SNAP KIT

The SNAP KIT or building block garments, employs modular panels with hand-sewn snaps enabling the wearer to arrange their own garments. The SNAP KIT provides users with the tools to customize sizes and silhouettes to fit their bodies uniquely, celebrating individual preference and the labor invested in personal styling. Abstracted clothing forms pose a unique solution for tailoring, reimagining the modern wardrobe. Transparency in garment production is highlighted, where users can participate in the shift from 2D patterns to 3D forms. Bleached muslin is used to elevate stages of patterning and drafting that often go unnoticed in the final itterations of garments. The simplicity of fabric accentuates the composition of the styled panels on the body. The hand-sewn snaps proudly display hand craftsmanship and celebrate functional notions as decoration. 24 configurations are documented in a zine alongside the SNAP KIT.
